Abstract:

The influence of the electrolyte composition on the electrochemical characteristics of lithium manganese spinels Li0.94Mn2O4 and Li0.98Mn2O4 was studied. The spinels were prepared by solid-state reaction and sol-gel syntheses. The parameters under study were the charge and discharge capacities and the Coulombic efficiency of the charge/discharge cycle. The long-term cycling of the cathodes made of the materials obtained was examined. The spinels prepared by both methods offer satisfactory electrochemical performance and are attractive as promising cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries.
