The lead accumulators with surface electrodes

To increase the specific characteristics of the surface electrodes, used in the lead accumulators it is necessary to exclude the influence of the internal stress in the paste which is obtained by the electrochemical way. One of the variants of the solutions of this problem is the electrochemical obtaining the paste under the pressure directed to the surface of the forming paste.

Generalized model of capacitance from discharge current dependence in nickel-cadmium batteries

For nickel-cadmium batteries of stationary application, a global empiric correlation C(i) describing the dependency of released capacitance by the batteries at different discharge currents was suggested, which is true for batteries of any capacitance and any mode of discharge (H, M, L). The global correlation C(i) can be described by generalized Peukert's equation, Korovin-Skundin's equation, probability integral, and porous electrode equation with accuracy sufficient for practical application.

The fast method of the available capacity diagnostics of the lead-acid battery

Present article describes the method of operative diagnostics of available capacity of the lead-acid accumulator (battery) at 10 or 20-h discharge mode. This method is developed on the basis of mathematical model of process of the discharge of the lead-acid accumulator. This allows calculating the available capacity of the accumulator (battery) on the basis of measurement of function of a response to the set short-term test signal without necessity of carrying out the control discharge of the battery.

Features of Lead-Acid Battery Modelling

One of the key steps to improve environmental situation is reducing pollutants released by automobiles. As of now, electric cars are the most commonly used type of eco-friendly vehicles. However, having a limited travel range they require an infrastructure system of charging stations to operate. Moreover, while electric vehicles don’t produce negative emissions directly they can still contribute to pollution if their energy is generated using fossil fuels.
