Abstract:

A series of doped lithium-manganese spinels with a common formula LiMn2-xСоxO4, 0 < х < 1, and LiMn2-x-yCrxСоyO4, 0 < х + у < 1, was synthesized. The structural and electrochemical properties of these compounds were studied. Replacement of Mn atoms in LiMn2O4 by Co or Co&Cr ones in a Mn:Me 195:5 ratio is shown to reduce the degradation of the discharge capacity at cycling with no decrease of its magnitude.
