A Ni-MH battery for domestic portable radio sets

Design and basic method for flat nickel metal-hydride storage sell manufacturing and storage battery assembling for pack radio sets are developed. The article applies the results of optimization of electrode active material composition, negative electrode activation conditions, negative and positive electrode capacity ratio and volume of filled electrolyte.
The certified capacity of 7.2 V storage battery prototypes with overall dimensions of 100 mm x 50 mm x 16mm comprised 2.1 A·h to 2.3 A·h. At increased discharge current and negative temperatures, the characteristics obtained exceed the parameters of storage batteries fabricated of commercially available imported cylindrical storage cells of A-A size.
