Composition and thikness of the passivating films, formed upon lithium contact with the gas of various compositions (computer simulation)

The potentialities of numerical simulation and prediction of the equilibrium chemical composition and the thickness of surface films formed on solid lithium upon its contact with gas were demonstrated. The composition and the thickness of the films formed upon the contact of lithium with Н2 N2, O2, F2, Cl2, Н20, СН2, NH2, С2Н2, H2S, СO2, СО, NO2, SO2, CN, dry and humid air had been calculated. The films were considered as disordered mediums, and the effective interaction radii of the product molecules (Onsager's radii) which arc their generalized statistical characteristics were calculated.
