Letters to the Editor should contain a brief account of scientific results of fundamentally important nature that require urgent publication.

1.3. A manuscript should be written concisely, accurately designed, and carefully edited. No artificial partitioning the material of one manuscript into many shorter ones, and no duplication of the same data in tables, diagrams, and figures are allowed.

1.4. To publish a paper its authors must submit the following materials:

1) a manuscript signed by all its authors, including the UDC, a summary and keywords in Russian and English, tables, figures and captions; the authors’ names;

2) info about the authors: their positions, academic degrees and academic titles, office addresses and phone numbers, fax numbers and e-mail addresses with an indication of the author responsible for correspondence with the editorial board;

3) all file submissions are sent by e-mail to the editorial board.

1.5. Within a week of the receipt of every manuscript, the authors will be notified of its receipt with the date of receipt and the registration number.

1.6. Manuscripts sent to the editorial board are subject to review, and, in the case of a positive review, to scientific and controlling editing.

1.7. Any manuscript returned to its author for revision must be returned in an amended form, together with its original version as soon as possible. The revised manuscript should be accompanied by a letter from the authors, containing their answers to all comments and explaining all the changes made in the text. Any manuscript detained for more than two months or requiring further revision will be regarded as a new submission.

The published paper cites the initial date of receipt of the manuscript and the date of manuscript acceptance for publication after revision.

2. Structure of publications

The first page should contain: UDC, the title, the initials and surnames of the authors, their affiliations in full, the postal address, e-mail, the corresponding author, the date of receipt, abstract, keywords. Next is the main text, thanks and funding sources (if any), REFERENCES, INFO ABOUT THE AUTHORS.

This work considers the application of graphene while forming the electrodes in biofuel cells. Graphene displays a number of important characteristics including, first of all, good mechanical properties, high thermal conductivity, high specific surface area, biocompatibility, structural peculiarities of the molecule, it is available for chemical modification of the structure. The fabrication, properties of graphene and its oxide were considered and peculiarities of the application of graphene as a basic material for electrodes in biofuel cells are also discussed.

The Editorial Board encourages authors to structure their material submitted by using subtitles (Introduction, Theoretical Analysis, Experimental, Results And Discussion, Conclusions, References).

3. Requirements to Manuscripts

3.1. Manuscripts must be typed double-spaced on white paper of standard size with 4 cm margins on the left side, the font size is 14, Latin letters as italics, Greek letters should be straight.

3.2. All pages of the manuscript, including references, tables, figure captions, and figures, should be numbered.

3.3. Every table should have a thematic heading.

3.4. Equations, figures, tables, and references are numbered in the order they are mentioned in the text.

3.5. The format of every figure should provide clearness of all details. Units along the coordinate axes are usually indicated by a comma (for example, U, V; I, µA; t, s). The figure caption should be self-sufficient, without appeal to the text.

3.6. References to the literature are given in the text by numbers in brackets. In the list, the references are arranged in the order of citation. If a reference to the literature is in a table or a figure caption, it is given a serial number corresponding to the location of this material in the text. References to unpublished works are not allowed.

3.7. Chemical and mathematical formulae and symbols in the text should be written clearly. Cumbersome notation should be avoided by using, for example, fractional exponents instead of roots, and “exp” for the exponential dependence. 4.5. The tables are part of the text and should not be made as graphics.

5. Procedure of review of manuscripts submitted to Elektrokhimicheskaya Energetica (Electrochemical Energetics)

 1. A manuscript is accepted for consideration only if it meets all the requirements of Elektrokhimicheskaya Energetica (Electrochemical Energetics).

2. Manuscripts submitted are subject to reviewing.

Manuscript review forms:

- internal (reviewing manuscripts by the Editorial Board members);

- external (reviewing manuscripts by leading experts in the branch).

The executive secretary evaluates the correspondence of a manuscript to the profile of the journal, to the requirements, and sends it for review to a specialist (Doctor or PhD) having the scientific specialization closest to the manuscript theme.

The reviewer may be a member of the editorial board or an external reviewer.

All the reviewers are acknowledged experts in the sphere to which the article is dedicated, and have been publishing articles on the corresponding topic for the last 3 years.

3. The reviewer should review the manuscript within 2 weeks of receipt and send a reasoned refusal from reviewing or a review to the editor (by e-mail or mail).

The review should be dealt with the following issues:

- whether the content of the manuscript corresponds to the topic stated in the title;

- how much the manuscript is consistent with modern achievements of scientific and theoretical thought;

- whether the text is available to the readers for which it is designed, in terms of language, style, the arrangement of the material, etc .

- is it appropriate to publish the manuscript in view of the literature previously issued on this subject;

- what exactly are the positive aspects and disadvantages of the manuscript, what corrections and additions need to be made by the author;

- a conclusion about the possibility of publication of this manuscript in the journal: "recommended," "recommended after revision" or "not recommended" for publication in Electrochemical Power Engineering.

4. Upon receipt of all reviews, a decision on publication is made.

If the manuscript can be published after revision, recommendations for improvement should be provided, if the manuscript is not accepted for publication, the reasons for such a decision should be given.

A manuscript submitted by the author to the editor after revision is processed in general terms. The date of receipt of the new version of the manuscript is filed.

In case of rejection, the Editorial board sends a reasoned refusal to the author.

No manuscript rejected by the reviewer can be reconsidered. A negative review is sent to the author by e-mail, fax or regular mail.

The presence of a positive review is not sufficient for publication. The final decision on publication is made by Editor-in-chief.

After deciding on publication the executive secretary informs the author and indicates the date of publication.

5. Original reviews are kept in Elektrokhimicheskaya Energetica (Electrochemical Energetics).

At the request of the Ministry, reviews must be sent to the Commission and/or the Ministry.

The editorial board draws authors’ attention to the fact that their failure to comply with the above regulations may delay the publication of their material.

Manuscripts rejected by the editorial board are not returned to their authors.

Editor-in-Chief, Professor Ivan A. Kazarinov
